Celebrating nearly 23 years of broadcasts on WUGA, African Perspectives examines current issues in Africa and celebrates African music and culture. The series also focuses on Africans living in Georgia and the Southeast and provides information about African-related activities on the University of Georgia campus. Host Akinloye Ojo is a native of Nigeria and a Ph.D.  in linguistics.

The third episode in April was another instalment of our show of hope, re-assurance, and lifting of spirits during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The episode continued our efforts since March 2020 to do two things. First, to remind our listeners about the importance of observing health and social distancing guidelines from local and national health officials. Second, to relief some of the anxieties of our listeners as we enter into another week of mandated global isolation and social distancing over the pandemic.

As always, the episode featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans including tracks from Missa Luba, An African Mass performed by the Muugano National Choir from Kenya under the direction of Boniface Mganga.
