This first episode in the last month of year is our fourth and final listeners appreciation show of the year. These quarterly specials are set aside to acknowledge the support and encouragement that we have and continue to receive from you on the show. This episode falls on the first show in the 25th year of African Perspectives on UGA. It features a special recognition of the show’s listeners and long term supporters, and the postponement of the announcement of the winners of the AP @ 24 African music CD giveaway competition that ended last week. The episode reports on the dedication ceremony of my portrait at the WUGA radio station on November 30, 2021. The portrait, which featured your host Akinloye Ojo working on the show was done by the award-winning artist, Jackie Dorsey and it is part of her Athens Portrait series. The episode also provides an update on the ongoing civil war in Ethiopia. As always, the episode featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans including selections from two collections, the 2006 Africa Anointed and the 2004 Women of Africa albums.
