Black History Month

The 2017 film “Marshall,” starring Chadwick Boseman, will be the feature film at the Morton Theatre Corporation’s Third Annual Black History Month Film Festival, according to a press release from the theatre.

The screening will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 in the Morton Theatre. Donations will be accepted and popcorn and water will be on sale for one dollar each.

“Stony the Road We Trod,” an exhibition which examines how African American artists redefined and reimagined southern identity, will be at the Georgia Museum of Art through April 28.

The works of art contribute to cultural memory and changing culture in the South and comment on themes of personal and collective struggle.

The exhibition contains works from a variety of artists and time periods, including “Spring Flowers,” painted by Claudia Clark in 1945 and “Signs of Confinement,” finished by Leo Twiggs in 2018.
