The University System of Georgia implements immediate travel ban to China.

Full Statement:

The following message has been issued by the University System of Georgia regarding upcoming travel to China.

As of Jan. 30, 2020, the U.S. State Department adjusted its travel advisory for China from “Reconsider Travel to China” to “Do Not Travel.” Based on this guidance and the Centers for Disease Control’s recommendations related to the new strain of coronavirus, University System of Georgia and its institutions will NOT approve travel to China effective immediately.

The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus outbreak a global health emergency. Some countries, include the U.S. have issued travel advisories, airlines have suspended flights and companies like Facebook and Ford have banned travel to China.
