District Attorney race

This week on Athens News Matters, hear:

Former State Representative and current candidate for District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez, along with several voters, is suing the Governor and the Secretary of State over a controversial decision to postpone the DA election for two years.

WUGA's panel of commentators discusses the latest local and state news, including further concerns about EMS service and the transparency of the EMS Oversight Committee, and the postponement of the election for District Attorney.

Ahead of the race for District Attorney, longtime prosecutor Brian Patterson talks to Alexia Ridley about his campaign, alternative courts and re-opening cold case files.

Local attorney Deborah Gonzalez was elected to the Georgia House in 2017 only to lose her seat one year later. Now she's running for District Attorney, and if elected, would be both the first woman and the first person of color to serve in the position.
