Jackson EMC is giving millions back to its members. The electric cooperative is mailing checks this month, totaling $13 million in margin refunds. The margins are refunded for a combination of years, so long-time, newer, and former members can benefit.

Georgia Economic Development Alliance

Jackson EMC is releasing 70 contractors to help with power restoration efforts in Louisiana in the wake of damage caused by Hurricane Delta. 

The crews are assisting Cleco Power, located in Pineville, La. The company serves about 288,000 customers in 24 parishes. 

Hurricane Delta was the second hurricane of 2020 to hit Cleco’s service territory.

Jackson EMC crews are heading to help storm-stricken residents in Alabama. Heavy rain and strong winds resulted in widespread power outages in Summerdale, Alabama. According to a release from the company, 11 Jackson EMC employees are going to assist Baldwin EMC to help restore power to approximately 77,000 members. Sally also affected Jackson EMC members and linemen who worked through Thursday morning to restore power locally.  


Jackson EMC is releasing contractors to aid in Hurricane Laura restoration efforts. According to a release from the company, 50 contractors are available to help in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Most of the contractors will be assisting Sam Houston Electric Cooperative, located in Livingston, Texas. Sam Houston Electric Cooperative serves approximately 56,000 members in parts of 10 counties.  For more information, visit jacksonemc.com.

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation, the largest electric cooperative in Georgia, has announced that it will resume disconnecting service for nonpayment starting July fifteenth.
