UGA Expert Derek Cooper Advises on Radon Dangers and Mitigation in January Awareness Campaign

January is a month dedicated to raising awareness about a silent killer present in many homes--radon. Derek Cooper is a radon educator with the University of Georgia’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences. He sat down with WUGA’s Alexia Ridley earlier this week to discuss radon, its effects, and how to mitigate its presence in homes.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan.
