Members of the Athens community are invited to a conversation on 100% clean, renewable energy in the Classic City Tuesday evening,

Environment Georgia and The UGA Office of Sustainability are hosting the gathering which features representatives from environmental groups, local government, as well as energy and education professionals.

Jennette Gayer is the director of Environment Georgia. She says with over 100 cities and 1,000 businesses committing to 100% renewable energy, organizers hope to add Athens to that list.

Gayer says the goal is to make energy decisions to reach 100% sometime in the next twenty years.

It’s being held at the Athens Library on Baxter Street from 6:30 to 8 pm, Tuesday, July 25.
