The Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation is inviting members of the community to a special lecture on “Preserving Your Family Photographs,” this evening. David Vaughn will discuss the best ways to handle, identify, and store treasured family photographs. Amy Andrews is on the 50th anniversary committee of the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation.

“We have David Vaughn, who has a great Civil War and historical photo collection,” Andrews said. “He knows a lot about historic photos, how to date them, how to care for them.”

The free event is Thursday, August 10, at 6:30 at the Lyndon House Arts Center. It is part of a series of events celebrating the ACHF’s 50th anniversary this year.

An exhibit at the Lyndon House is also part of the celebration activities. “Captured in Time” takes place in two parts: “Downtown Athens Through the Years” runs Aug. 8 to Sept. 9; “Mystery History: Unidentified Houses of Athens” runs July 15-Nov. 1. “Mystery History” features images of unidentified houses in Athens, and visitors are encouraged to help identify them.”
