The 10th Annual Wild Rumpus Parade & Spectacle “Planet X” is taking place in Athens October 26-27.
Organizers released the information Tuesday. Proceeds from the event will benefit Athens Area Homeless Shelter.
The two-day celebration has grown into one of the region’s biggest holiday events after a modest beginning of friends coming together to celebrate Halloween in costume.
This Wild Rumpus includes free and ticketed special events, live music, street performers, and a big parade through the streets of downtown Athens enhanced by Athens area bands along the parade route. The parade is free and family-friendly. Patrons are encouraged to dress in costume. Anyone dressed in costume may walk in the parade. All events will take place rain or shine.
Events include the Monster Mash, Kick-off Party, 5K and Fun Run, Rumpus Rally, Wild Rumpus Parade and Wild Rumpus Ball.
