Athens area residents are invited to the Fall Art Party Extravaganza. The Dodd Galleries at the Lamar Dodd School of Art is celebrating five new exhibitions this Friday from 6 to 8 pm.

Katie Geha is the Gallery Director. She says the event will feature works by Dodd alumni, current students and outside artists.

“We have all kinds of different mediums. We have video, sculpture, ceramics, mural painting. We also have this new installation project that we just started called ‘Wall Works’ where we invite artists to create a sight-specific installation on our entry wall,” Geha says. “And that artist is Athens-based artist Jess Machacek, and she’s created this really dynamic wall instillation that is related to this idea of summer.”

The event is free and open to everyone.

The Extravaganza will also feature free food, drinks and activities.
