West Broad Farmer's Market will kick off its 2019 season on with its May Day Celebration on May 4.
The celebration will feature fresh, locally-grown produce, yoga, live music, baked goods, cooking demonstrations, arts, crafts and gardening activities.
The farmer's market is a mission-driven weekly market that supports local economic development and community wellness through education, service, engagement and outreach. It began in 2013 and provides a point of contact for small farmers in the Athens area as an affordable and accessible market space.
In 2018 alone, the WBFM generated over $57,000 for local producers, farmers and growers.
