The Lyndon House Arts Center is hosting an event celebration of the upcoming launch of the Athens Music Walk of Fame Thursday evening. Members of the community are invited to are invited

“Please join us to listen and learn about the history and the rich contributions of black music and musicians in the Athens area.”

The evening will also feature three speakers.

“Art Rosenbaum will be joining us, a Grammy award-winning musicologist who is known for his field recordings,” Dunphy said. “Mr. Gregory Hull, the director of worship and arts at Hill Chapel Baptist Church, will be joining us to talk about sacred music; and Mary Helen Hogue who is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Georgia in Musicology.”

That event, African-American Music Heritage in Athens:an Evening of Presentations, is from 6:30 to 8 pm Thursday evening.
