The United Way of Northeast Georgia wants area residents to make use of its 2-1-1 program.  Kay Keller is president and CEO of the agency.

“The most important thing that in the midst of this crisis is that we are here to support and help our neighbors and community members,” according to Keller. “With 211 being our health and human services information referral resource, it’s available all the time. You can call 211, text 211 or you can come on to our website at unitedwaynega.org and follow the link.”

Keller says the organization can connect residents to a wide variety of services.

“Some of the things are going to be where food distributions are available, where there is sheltering, where there is financial help to be had. All of those services are available through 211. So any need that anyone has, any kind of emergency, at this point, emergency resources, those are available.”

Due to the volume calls, texting and visiting the United Way’s website may be the best methods of contacting 211 right now.
