Clarke County Schools to Lease Piedmont College Campus

The Clarke County School BOE has approved leasing office space from Piedmont College.  The Prince Avenue campus will house the district’s administrative offices. The move will allow the BOE to centralize the district offices, and consolidate workspace.

It will cost $600,000 a year to lease the property and the purchase price is $8.2 million.

The district is using funds from the $2.8 million dollars that was set aside from the Mitchell Bridge Road property sale several years ago.

The school district temporarily moved its headquarters to the H.T Edwards building four years ago and has been searching for a new location for more than a year. The West Broad School was considered, but the site is considered too small.

Piedmont will move to another location downtown. Many Piedmont students engage in online instruction.
