ACC Board of Elections Rejects Residency Challenge

Monday evening, the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections denied an effort that challenged the residency of almost 8,000 voters.

According to Flagpole Magazine, the challenge was filed by Gordon Rhoden, chairman of the Athens Republican Party, who alleged that voters moved away from Clarke County, or Georgia because their names appear on the National Change of Address Registry.

The challenge was rejected because submitting a change-of-address form is not probable cause to challenge a voter's residency.
