U.S. Passes 500,000 Deaths from COVID-19

A year into the pandemic, The U.S. closes in on 500,000 deaths from the coronavirus. 107 people have died in Clarke County, with 9 of them just in the past 2 weeks. January was the worst month on record for cases in Athens, though those numbers are now trending downward. At least 1 in 9 Clarke County residents has been infected, with nearly 14,000 cases reported.
