As part of putting together the budget for the 2022 Fiscal Year, the Mayor and Commission are hearing from independent agencies to determine how much funding each organization will receive for the year.
Project Safe Director Joan Prittie said that postponed jury trials from the pandemic called for the expansion of their services.
"There is a backlog of serious domestic violence cases from last year that have not been pursued, so we're working with victim advocates from the DA's office on that, we're excited about that."
