Governor Brian Kemp appeared on a Fox News Radio program this week to discuss the COVID-19 stimulus package.
Although neither Kemp nor the show host, D.C.-based Guy Benson, cited specific components of the bill, both took issue with “bailouts” for other states. Here’s Governor Kemp:
"It's kind of outrageous, quite honestly, that states are being penalized for having a good economy or low unemployment. Meanwhile, the states that don't have a strong economy are getting a bailout. It doesn't make much sense to me."
Kemp specifically cited California, New York, and Illinois as examples, all states where the pandemic has hit hard.
