Although primary elections for state offices are still well over a year away, Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor, Geoff Duncan, already has a challenger.
Jeanne Seaver touts herself as a business owner, community activist, and political consultant, who worked for the Trump campaign in Georgia in 2016.
In a campaign video released yesterday, Seaver announced her candidacy, offering little in the way of specific criticism of Duncan’s performance, saying that she was “very disappointed in the failed leadership of the Lieutenant Governor’s office.”
Duncan has, so far largely managed to avoid the kind of ire from Trump supporters that other Republican political figures in the state, like Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, drew after the 2020 election.
