Yesterday, the Georgia First Amendment Foundation released a letter of support for Carrie Bishop, a parent fighting to access COVID-19 data from the Clarke County School District.

The Georgia First Amendment Foundation's letter of support is in response to Bishop's complaint with the Georgia Attorney General's Office, following the denial of an Open Records request seeking information about the school district's COVID-19 cases, isolations, hospitalizations, and deaths.

According to the letter, the school district's response to Bishop's request is a violation of the Open Records Act, as they intentionally delayed her access to public records.

The Georgia First Amendment Foundation is a nonprofit, whose mission is to support Georgians' access to public records and protect free speech rights.
