Earlier today, Governor Brian Kemp held an update on distribution for the COVID-19 vaccine, during which he announced an expansion on eligibility in the coming month.
Governor Kemp announced the state will lower the vaccine eligibility age to 55, as well as those with high-risk conditions as defined by the CDC, come March 15.
KEMP: "Adding these additional high-risk Georgians will mean that vaccination will be available to categories that have accounted for 92% of our deaths due to COVID-19 and Georgia. As we have from the beginning, we will protect the most vulnerable to sift severe illness, hospitalization, or death and enable Georgians to get back to normal."
Additionally, so long as the supply of the vaccine remains on track, Kemp says he hopes to open availability to all adults during the first part of this April.
