The Clarke-County School District https://www.clarke.k12.ga.us/ is moving forward with plans to renovate the controversial West Broad School site for their Early Head Start program.

The Fiscal Responsibility Committee (https://www.clarke.k12.ga.us/domain/101), which provides financial guidance to the school board, discussed updated renovation plans for three buildings on the historic West Broad School campus.

The committee originally intended to demolish both Campbell Street and Broad Street Buildings, but adjusted their plans in hopes of preserving the structure on Campbell Street after the Georgia Department of COmmunity Affairs, announced that the campus is eligible for the Georgia and National Register of Historic Places (https://www.dca.ga.gov/georgia-historic-preservation-division/national-register-research-survey/national-register-historic)

Preserving the buildings, however, will require adjustments.
