COVID Update for Thursday

COVID cases continue to surge both statewide and locally. 

50 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Athens-Clarke County yesterday. While this is lower than the previous day, the overall positivity rate is still on the rise.

Yesterday, Clarke County's seven-day moving average was 38.1. A month ago, on July 4th, the average was 2.3. Statewide, the Georgia Department of Public Health reported 3,014 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths in the last day.

The Department of Public Health reported 10 new cases yesterday in neighboring Oconee County, and 25 cases in Madison County.
