Athens-Clarke County officials are reporting some positive trends in COVID-19 cases. One important metric, the number of cases per 100,000 residents, is improveming. ACC saw 77.9 cases per 100,000 residents during the seven day period ending Wednesday, compared with 96.6 cases per 100,000 the week before. Hospital admissions also declined – 34 new admissions versus 59 the previous week.

One area where there seemed to be no improvement however, is in the county’s vaccination rate, which remained at just 45 percent across the county.
