Georgia’s midterm election is now underway as 550 Athens residents had their say at the polls this Monday, the first day of early voting.

From now until November 4th, Athenians can get a head start on swaying the tight race between Senator Rapheal Warnock and former University of Georgia football player, Herschel Walker. Voters will also see Brian Kemp and Stacey Abrams go head-to-head for the second time in a race for governorship, and additional state offices up for election.

Before October 29, all early voters can head to Athens-Clarke County Elections Office between 8 AM - 5 PM on Oct. 17-21, between 9 AM - 5 PM on Oct. 23, and between 8 AM - 5 PM on Oct. 24-29. Additional polling locations will open starting Oct. 29, including the ACC Library, Miriam Moore Community Center, ACC Extension, ACC Tennis Center, Winterville Train Depot, and Lyndon House Arts Center. They are open between 9 AM - 5 PM every day until Nov. 4th, except on Nov. 2, when all voting locations will be available from 7 AM - 7 PM.

Additional information on early voting can be found on the Athens Clarke County Elections Office website.
