UGA Alumnus to Deliver 2022 African Studies Fall Lecture

The University of Georgia’s African Studies Institute presents the 2022 African Studies Fall lecture this week. The annual event celebrates African Studies programming at UGA. The guest speaker this year is UGA alumnus, Dr. Todd Ferry, the Associate Director of Center for Public Interest Design in Portland. The topic of his address is “Places, Process and the Public: Designing for Community Impact." UGA Professor Akinloye Ojo heads the African Studies Institute. He spoke with WUGA about the institute and lecture series.

The lecture is Thursday, October 20 at 3:30 pm at the UGA Chapel.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
