Athens-Clarke County officials are holding two open houses today to present the candidate sites for a new east side library.

The first open house is today at noon at Fire Station #7 on Barnett Shoals Road, with a second event at 5:00 at the East Athens Development Corporation on McKinley Drive.

Eight sites are under consideration for the new library, including the Green Acres shopping center and the Kroger/College Station shopping center, as well as several pieces of land owned by Athens-Clarke County.
