Athens-Clarke County residents can start casting their votes next week for the upcoming general primary.

Early voting begins on Monday, April 29 and ends on Friday, May 17. Local ballot measures include races for county commissioners in districts 2, 6 and 8 and a democratic primary for Clarke County sheriff, coroner and tax commissioner. However, there are no republicans running against the democratic primary candidates, so this election will decide the outcome. In neighboring Oconee county, voters will decide on 10 ballot questions designed to make changes to the county’s homestead exemption.

The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections office is the only location open for early voting from April 29 until Saturday, May 11. More information on early voting can be found on the ACC Elections website.
