Athens StoryCorps: Frank Perry and Marti Schimmel

In his younger days, Frank Perry’s life looked very different than it does now. From drug and alcohol abuse to run-ins with the law, Perry says he was addicted to the high of being in trouble. In this conversation, Frank tells his friend Marti Schimmel about this difficult past. StoryCorps Athens stories were recorded locally at the StoryCorps mobile booth at the Athens-Clarke County Library in the Fall of 2018. StoryCorps is part of a national initiative to record and preserve the stories of everyday people.
