This episode is the first after the Africa Music Safari, our five week summer musical excursion through the African continent. On this first show in August, we provided updates on some of the political news coming out of the continent. Our focus turned to the appointments of prime ministers, the leader of government ministers in Somalia, Tunisia and the historic appointment of Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda as the first female prime minister in Gabon. As always, the episode featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans comprising selected tunes new to our show from three special collections: African Homeland; Best of Africa and African Roots Revival.
