Josh Podvin on Americorps Community Food Fellows Program

A new program at the University of Georgia seeks to serve Athenians facing food insecurity. Americorps Community Food Fellows was established last year, and counts many full-time students among its members. Earlier this week we discussed the program and its impacts with Josh Podvin, the Assistant Director for Community Partnerships at UGA’s Office of Service Learning.

Erin Campbell on Diaper Need

The Georgia Diaper Bank Coalition recently launched a website in order to connect with families across the state experiencing diaper need. Erin Campbell is the Executive Director of Athens Area Diaper Bank, which supports six counties. She sat down with WUGA’s Alexia Ridley to discuss the coalition’s recent efforts.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
