Artist Jennifer Steinkamp uses computer programs to create digital animations, then projects them into spaces that viewers can walk through or experience at large scale, changing how they experience those spaces. You can see Steinkamp’s “Mike Kelley” at the Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia through August 21. This digital animation named for one of her art school teachers shows a tree moving and twisting in the wind as it goes through all four seasons. Although Kelley himself died in 2012, in some ways he remains alive forever through this work.
