ACCPD, GBI

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has updated an investigation into a recent home invasion. With the help of a GBI sketch artist, the department has released a sketch of a person of interest in the case. Police say the wave cap, or du-rag he was wearing at the time was orange.

On May 1st around 2 pm, a 21-year old female UGA student reported that as she entered her residence in the 100 block of East Cloverhurst Avenue, a black entered behind her and attacked her, demanding money. According to a release from the department, she lost consciousness during that attack. When she awoke, the suspect was gone.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30-year-old, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.

According to ACCPD Chief Cleveland L. Spruill, “The safety of our residents and visitors is of the utmost importance, and the police department is committed to using all investigative resources to identify and arrest this offender. We are asking the public to contact us with any information on this assault.”

The chief urges residents that, ‘If You See Something, Say Something.’
