UGA increases COVID-19 testing

After a large increase in positive cases last week and reports of delayed testing appointments, UGA is expanding the number of symptomatic and asymptomatic tests they will perform each day.

According to university spokesperson Greg Trevor, testing capacity will be increased from about 360 tests a day to 500 tests a day. Trevor also responded to the reports from students of testing appointments being backed up, saying that this was caused by an issue with registration that has now been resolved and not a lack of available tests.

Asymptomatic students, faculty, and staff should now be able to successfully schedule appointments at Legion Field no more than a few days out.
