In response to swelling enrollment numbers, the University of Georgia's Computer Science Department is getting an upgrade.
Jointly administered by the University's Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering, the new School of Computing will administer the university’s bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. programs in computer science as well as the master’s program in cybersecurity and privacy.
In a statement, UGA President Jere Morehead said he was "excited about the positive impact the School of Computing will have on research and education in the STEM disciplines at UGA."
The Computer Science Department at UGA first opened its doors in 1984.
