Funding for K-12 education is trailing among voter concerns this election year according to recent polling.
While both Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp have rolled out their own educational proposals, the candidates are spending more time talking about inflation, the economy, abortion and guns.
In 2018, an AJC poll found 16% of Georgians beloved public schools were the most important election that year. A recent Fox News poll found just 3% of Georgians named education as their top issue. Georgia spends more than $25 billion on public schools this year, out of a $58 billion budget.
