This third episode in October focuses on African literature especially in response to the award of the 2021 Nobel Prize for Literature to Tanzanian writer, Abdurazak Gurnah. The episode features our first interview in the final quarter of the year. The episode also features news updates from Tunisia with the appointment of the first female Prime Minister, Najla Bouden Romdhane, 63, Ethiopia with its ongoing civil war and Tanzania following the Noble Prize for literature award. The final segment of episode features an interview with UGA’s professor of African Literature and latest faculty addition to the African Studies Institute, Dr. Alexander Fyfe. As always, the episode featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans with specific selections from CD #1 and CD #2 of the 2005 3-CD collection, Beginners Guide to Africa.
