Host: African PerspectivesAkinloyè Òjó, PhD is a professor in the Department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies at the University of Georgia (UGA). He is also the current Director in the UGA African Studies Institute (ASI). His teaching and research interests include applied linguistics and language pedagogy, Yoruba language and linguistics, language, culture and society, and African Studies. His recent book, “Language, Society and Empowerment in Africa and Its Diaspora,” was published in 2022 by Lexington Books. He is also a published poet. He is the creator and host of WUGA's weekly radio show 'African Perspectives', which has been on the air since 1997.
