Representative Houston Gaines is announcing a sizeable war chest. His campaign is reporting over $250,000 cash on hand as of the January 31 financial disclosure, with almost $170,000 raised this reporting period alone.
“With these fundraising numbers, folks have sent a clear message, they approve of our leadership under the gold dome.,” according to Gaines. “Together we’ve accomplished so much over the last three years but we have more work to do. I look forward to continue working hard on behalf of our community.”
According to a campaign release, the District 117 representative’s total includes more than $56,000 raised in the final six days before the start of the 2022 legislative session, during that time incumbents are prohibited from raising funds.
Nearly 70% of those funds came from the four counties in the district. They are Barrow, Clarke, Jackson and Oconee.
