Due to continuing clean-up, the Biological Sciences Building will remain closed to the general public through at least the remainder of the day. Principal Investigators and researchers may access the facility on an as-needed basis, but the building will be closed for classes today.
Early this morning, malfunctioning equipment in a lab on the 8th floor activated the building’s sprinkler system. Crews have determined that more time is needed to clear the water, which has flowed down to other floors, and clear the smell of smoke.
The University will provide another update to the campus community on the status of the building by the end of the day.
