The State of Georgia’s net tax collections during the month of September approached $3.21 billion, for a decrease of $91.2 million. Year to date tax revenue collected roughly $8.11 billion for an increase of $29.5 million compared to September 2023 when net collections reached $8.08 billion.
The governor’s office released the data Friday. Individual Income Tax refunds issued decreased by $35.4 million and Income Tax Withholding payments for September decreased by $4.1 million from fiscal year 2024.
The Net Sales and Use Tax decreased by $52.5 million when compared to September 2023 when net Sales Tax revenue totaled $820.2 million. Sales Tax refunds decreased by roughly $2.9 million compared to fiscal year 2024.
Motor Vehicle Tag & Title Fee collections for September rose by $0.2 million, or 0.7%, while Title ad Valorem Tax collections decreased by $2.6 million, or 3.2%, from fiscal year 2024. Motor Fuel Tax collections for the month increased by $6.7 million.
