UGA Presidential Initiative Will Focus on Hiring Faculty and Staff in High-Demand Areas

University of Georgia

In a new presidential initiative, the University of Georgia plans to hire 25 new faculty and staff.

UGA has launched a new presidential hiring initiative every year since 2013. This year's, is called “Investing in the Student Experience.”

Many of UGA’s incoming students have expressed interest in majors like computer science, management information systems, finance, engineering, statistics, biology and international affairs.

Because of this, the university plans to hire 10 more tenure-track faculty, 10 lecturers, and five academic advisors in these subjects.

Under President Jere Morehead, hiring initiatives in the past have focused on interdisciplinary studies, research, informatics and the sciences.
