Public Forums Scheduled for House Seat 117 and 119 Races

Several forums and events have been scheduled for candidates running for the open District 119 and District 117 House seats, Flagpole and Oconee County Observations reported. 

The Oconee County Republican party is holding a forum for House Seat 117 and 119 Republican candidates on Thursday. The event will be held at the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce at 6:30 p.m. Houston Gaines who is running for District 117 is attending, along with District 119 candidates Tom Lord and Marcus Wiedower. The event will be held at the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce at 6:30 p.m.

 

All Republican and Democratic candidates for District 117 and District 119 seats have confirmed they will attend an open forum at the Oconee County Library. That event will be held on October 9th starting at 6 p.m.

 

Another forum hosted by the Athens-Clarke County Federation of Neighborhoods will be held on October 23rd. The event will be at the Athens-Clarke County Library from 6-8 p.m.

 

Both House seats are open because Gov. Nathan Deal appointed former District 117 Representative Regina Quick and District 119 Representative Chuck Williams to state positions.
