Bring One for the Chipper in Athens Saturday, January 6

Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful is sponsoring Christmas tree recycling this Saturday. The Bring One for the Chipper event takes place at several locations, on Drop-off locations include Cofer’s Home and Garden Showplace, Clarke Middle School, Sandy Creek Nature Center and Chase Street Elementary School.

Trees also can be taken to recycling centers at the Georgia Square Mall Theater parking lot, Winterville Public Works building, and the Lexington Road Tag Office. The recycling centers are open through Jan. 12 but will not be staffed after the 6th.  Areas to drop off trees will be marked. Undecorated trees in Clarke County also can be left out for leaf and limb disposal. Those wishing to do so will need to check with the county for the pickup schedule. The ACC Landfill is also accepting undecorated trees free of charge.
