Early Voting Begins in Georgia for Upcoming Elections/Local Polling Places

Voters across Georgia are now able to cast early ballots for the upcoming primary election that includes races for governor, the U.S. Congress and the state Legislature.

Advance in-person voting lasts for the three weeks before the May 22 primary. The newspaper reports that some counties offer early voting on weekends.

Early voting is available to all registered voters at polling places designated by each county. Voters must report to their regular precincts if they wait to vote on Election Day.

Primary election runoffs will be held July 24, and the general election is Nov. 6.

Area polling places:

All registered voters can vote early at polling places designated by each county…in our area, its always at the county’s board of elections.

In Athens, that’s 155 East Washington Street, in Oconee County it's 10 Court Street in Watkinsville, in Jackson County its 441 Gordon Street in Jefferson, in Madison County its 94 Spring Lake Drive in Danielsville, in Oglethorpe County you can vote early at 109 East Boggs Street in Lexington and in Barrow County at 233 East Broad Street in Winder.

Saturday voting is available on May12th. Early voting runs until May 18th with the actual primary on may 22nd. Runoffs will be held July 24th and the general election on November 6th.
