UGA will take part in Frankenreads, an international celebration of the 200th anniversary of the book with events happening across the globe.

A reading of “Frankenstein” will take place from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Main Library on UGA’s campus. The final part of the novel will be read at Cine in costume before a free screening of “The Bride of Frankenstein.”

The Georgia Baseball team is hosting a free Halloween Extravaganza tomorrow at Foley Field.

The Bulldogs are taking batting practice in costumes, then a meet and greet for kids on the field followed by game one of the Fall World Series.

Action begins at 2:40 p.m. as the Bulldogs will take approximately 40 minutes of batting practice. At 3:30 p.m., fans will be able to go down on the field to meet the team.

At 3:50 p.m., kids will be able to visit four stations set up around the field to participate in drills for 40 minutes with the Georgia coaching staff. The stations will include running the bases, target throwing in the bullpen, wiffle ball in left field and fielding ground balls and catching pop-ups in the centerfield.

At 4:30 p.m., the field will be cleared to prepare for the scrimmage. Bulldog players will be handing out treats down the third base line.

Game one of the series will begin at 5 pm. The three-game series continues Friday at 6 and Saturday at noon. Admission to the extravaganza and games is free.

The ACCPD is also holding Halloween activities tomorrow evening. Members of the community are invited to take part in the department’s Trunk or Treat - Wednesday, October 31st from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services and Clarke County Sheriff's Office are partnering in the event. Kids should bring their own Goody Bags for Candy and Treats.
