Clarke County Schools Opening Late Tuesday, Due to Weather Concerns

The Clarke County School District is joining state government offices is opening on a delayed schedule tomorrow. Governor Nathan Deal announces that government offices will delay opening until 10 o’ clock Tuesday due to the potential for icy spots and black ice on roads.

The district issued a weather statement late this afternoon to notify parents and students that it will operate on a two-hour delay and buses will run on a two-hour delay. Elementary school will begin class at 9:40 tomorrow, middle school at 10:25 and high school at 10:45. School door will open 30 minutes before school start times.

Parents are asked not to drop off students prior to that time because there will be no adult supervision or access to the buildings.

Breakfast service will not be provided tomorrow.  However, lunch will be served as normal.
