Nathan Deal Will Teach at UGA, Other Schools

Outgoing governor Nathan Deal is heading to the University of Georgia. The state Board of Regents voted to appointed Deal as a Regents Professor. He will lecture occasionally lecture at UGA and others school in the state beginning March 1st. The position is expected to last at least three years.

UGA President Jere Morehead said, “The University of Georgia looks forward to welcoming Governor Deal to the campus later this spring. He joins a long list of distinguished public servants who have taught at our institution, after completing their terms of office, including Zell Miller and Saxby Chambliss.”

University System of Georgia Chancellor Steve Wrigley says it's a wonderful opportunity for students to learn from a former governor. Wrigley says Deal's salary will be about $120,000 a year.

Deal leaves office next week.
