SPLOST 2020 Comment Form and Project Pages Now Available to the Public

Athens-Clarke County

The SPLOST 2020 Citizens Advisory Committee has released its public comment form and individual project webpages for the 88 projects submitted by organizations and individuals around Athens-Clarke County. The form can be found here.

The 22-person committee has been meeting twice a week to listen to presentations regarding the various projects, and they are tasked with narrowing the projects down and presenting a SPLOST plan to the Mayor and Commission by April 9, 2018. The Mayor and Commission will receive the final project list by May 14, 2019 and will approve the funding to be voted on in November.

The 88 total projects equal about $1.2 billion, but the committee will have to narrow them down to $248 million.

The Committee hopes that the public comment form will give citizens an outlet to voice their opinions on project ideas. All comments must be in before the first round of voting on March 3, 2019. Additionally, the meetings are open to the public. A full calendar of the meetings can be found at www.accgov.com/splost2020.
